A Classic Southern Africa Safari Trail
If the Grand Southern Africa Journey is our most indulgent route, this is our most classic one — the three sights most people picture when they imagine Southern Africa, in the order that makes geographic and emotional sense. Chobe's riverfront elephant herds first, then the raw thunder of Victoria Falls, then Cape Town's mountains and vineyards to close on a gentler note.
Chobe National Park does something few other reserves can: it puts you on the water, at eye level with elephant herds that can number in the hundreds along the riverbank at the right time of day. From there, a short hop to Victoria Falls, and finally south to Cape Town for wine, city, and mountain before you fly home.
Kasane → Chobe National Park, Botswana
Fly into Kasane, on the border of four countries, and transfer to your riverfront lodge. A late-afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River is the gentlest possible introduction to the park — and often the best game viewing of the whole visit.
Chobe National Park
A morning game drive through the park's floodplains, followed by a second river cruise at sunset. Chobe holds one of the largest elephant populations left in Africa, and it shows.
Kasane → Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
A short scenic transfer across the border to Victoria Falls, with the afternoon free for your first look at the Falls themselves from the Zimbabwean side.
Victoria Falls
A guided walking tour along the full length of the Falls viewpoints, with an optional helicopter flight over the gorge for those who want the scale of it from above. A sunset cruise on the Upper Zambezi closes the day.
Victoria Falls
An open day for white-water rafting, a Zambezi National Park game drive, or simply time at the lodge before the flight south.
Victoria Falls → Cape Town, South Africa
A flight to Cape Town, with the rest of the day free to settle in — the shift from bushveld to city and mountain is best taken slowly.
Cape Town
Table Mountain by cable car first thing, followed by a guided tour through the Bo-Kaap and the V&A Waterfront.
Stellenbosch & Franschhoek
A full day out to the Winelands, with tastings, a long lunch, and a scenic return over Helshoogte Pass as the light turns gold — a fittingly gentle close to a trip that started on the Chobe River.
Cape Town
A private transfer to Cape Town International for your onward or homebound flight.
